Labour dispute in ski resort and programme service sector goes to mediation on Tuesday 28 November 2017

The parties to the labour dispute – the Finnish Hospitality Association MaRa and Service Union United PAM – have been invited by the National Conciliator Minna Helle to attend mediation. There is the threat of a lockout by the employers, which would take effect on 8 December 2017.

The mediation will be held at the National Conciliator’s Office on Tuesday 28 November 2017 at 8.00 am. The mediation will look at the reasons for the dispute and a decision will be taken regarding continuation of the mediation process.

On Wednesday 22 November 2017 the Finnish Hospitality Association MaRa announced that a lockout affecting ski resorts and programme service companies will take effect on 8–19 December 2017. The labour dispute has arisen because of the conflicting views of the parties regarding the pay settlement. The lockout will affect members of Service Union United PAM.
